Dokuro is an action game developed by Game Arts and published by GungHo Online Entertainment. Nori Kazama, the director, used to work on gory video games but after having a child and spending time on bookstores, he was inspired by the art style of children’s story books. This is where the graphics of Dokuro came from.
Players take on the character of Dokuro, a skeletal worker for a Dark Lord. The Dark Lord took a princess in captivity and forces her to marry him. Dokuro felt bad for the princess and later decides to help her escape. Basically, the main objective is to escort the princess through different levels of puzzles in order to get out of the castle.
Dokuro has the ability to push, pull, toggle and turn switches on and off to open pathways. He can also carry the princess whenever he drinks a magical blue potion. An almighty chalk can be used to handle inhospitable situations. Chalks of different colours allow the skeletal warrior to sketch lines of fire, make bodies of water, and repair ropes that are broken.
Other skills of Dokuro include slashing, skilful jumping, and dodging. The game features almost one hundred fifty platforms. Each puzzle becomes more complex as the game progresses.
