From the mind of Castlevania series creator Koji Igarashi comes Bloodstained Ritual of the Night a culmination of years’ worth of experience making the Castlevania series condensed into one game. We follow the game’s protagonist Miriam as she tries to free herself from a curse that slowly turns her body into a crystal, she must battle her way through a demon-infested castle to her childhood friend Gebel, who has been entirely consumed by the curse.
It’s Castlevania in everything but name and fans of Igarachi’s earlier work will find a lot to love between excellent combat and rewarding traversal. The Switch port is harder to recommend at present, but the game is likely to be among the console’s best after a patch or two.
