Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle is a side-scrolling action platform game developed and published by Sega. It is the fifth installment in the Alex Kidd video game series, and the first sequel to ever have Alex Kidd as the lead character.

Right after it was revealed that King Thor was being held captive inside the Sky Castle by Ashra, the mean ruler of another planet, Alex Kidd decided to take on a quest to search for his long lost father, King Thor, for he has a feeling that he could still be alive.

The story is set in a fictional planet Paperock where people who live in there gain fortune in gambling houses by playing “Rock, Paper, Scissors”, literally. Really! So Alex will have to do the same in order for him to obtain items that would help him during combat and exploration.

The gamer will play as Alex Kidd as he goes through eleven stages by fighting enemies and avoiding obstacles as he jumps, kicks, crawls, or punch some monsters along the way. But be reminded that extreme use of wits is needed in this journey because at the end of each level, you’ll encounter a boss and enter into a match of “Rock, Paper, Scissors”!
