Borderlands 4 – The Announcement of the New Release Date
In a news that surprised many, 2K announced on April 29, 2025, the new release date for Borderlands 4. The publisher decided to move up the highly anticipated fourth chapter’s release from September 23 to September 12, 2025. The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and even Nintendo Switch 2.
The announcement was initially shared by CEO Randy Pitchford with a somewhat negative tone, but later confirmed the decision to move up the launch, showing great confidence in the team’s current progress. This announcement was accompanied by news of an exclusive State of Play.

As mentioned with the new release date for Borderlands 4, we also have news of a special State of Play. An exclusive showcase where we’ll see the game in action on PlayStation with 20 minutes of content. From weapons, skills, missions, characters, and more. The State of Play will be held today, on:
