Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Launch Trailer Released

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

With just a few days left before launch, Ubisoft has released a launch trailer for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The trailer has Alexios’ mother telling him of the legacy of the his spear and his blood, and what he’ll need to have to unite all of Greece.

It’s a little odd that Ubisoft went with Alexios for the launch trailer given that they’ve previously revealed that it is Kassandra who is canon in the Assassin’s creed lore. I think they chose Alexios simply for that one epic-looking pop culture reference where he kicks a man off a cliff a la Leonidas from the movie 300.

You can check out the full trailer below:

The trailer combines action sequences and cinematics, mostly the latter, to establish the theme of the adventure for players. It also showcases some of the praise the game has already garnered from critics. From every scene and every strike, you can definitely see that this really is the most ambitious entry in the franchise yet.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey launches on October 5th on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Pre-ordering the Gold or Ultimate Edition will allow you to start playing up to 3 days before official launch.
