Aniplex has officially stepped in as the global publisher for Fate/Extra Record. The Sony Music Entertainment Japan subsidiary assumes management of the dungeon crawler remake after Bandai Namco Entertainment withdrew from the project in March 2026.

The updated platform lineup provides the first official confirmation of a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 build for the remake. Players across PC and console ecosystems will receive simultaneous access once Type-Moon confirms the final launch schedule.


Studio BB Restructures as Director Kazuya Niino Steps Down

Production responsibilities have expanded beyond Type-Moon Studio BB. Studio Meteorise, known for co-developing titles such as Atelier Resleriana and Tribe Nine, now handles development alongside Type-Moon’s internal planning staff.

Studio director Kazuya Niino announced his resignation from Type-Moon Studio BB due to health concerns and personal reasons. Niino confirmed on social media that his name will not appear in the final game credits, though he expressed full confidence in the remaining development staff.

The Type-Moon official announcement confirmed that existing social channels and legacy websites will close on September 7, 2026. Aniplex will manage new official channels to deliver ongoing project updates.
