Animal Crossing 3.0 Is Live: Switch 2 Features, Resort Hotel & Multi-Crafting
Nintendo just broke its own rule. Years after declaring support finished, Animal Crossing New Horizons receives the massive Version 3.0 update. This patch shadow-dropped yesterday for base consoles, while the next-gen Nintendo Switch 2 enhancements officially unlocked on January 15.
The update brings fresh energy to island economies with deep mechanics previously thought impossible on the original hardware.

This content rollout is staggered but significant. While the core Version 3.0 content is available now on all systems, the hardware-specific upgrades are locked to the Switch 2 release date.

New Horizons Resort Hotel & Slumber Island
Kapp’n’s family has established a fully functional Resort Hotel on the pier. This is not just a cosmetic building; you actively manage the business. Players decorate guest rooms, curate outfits for tourists, and fulfill requests to earn “Hotel Tickets” for exclusive furniture.
The update also introduces Slumber Island. This feature allows players to visit a dream state specifically for terraforming and building practice.
You can reshape rivers and cliffs with friends without permanently altering your main island. It creates a safe sandbox for experimentation before committing to major renovations.
Animal Crossing Multi-Crafting & Resetti
Nintendo finally addressed the community’s biggest complaints regarding Quality of Life. The tedious crafting animations are gone; Multi-crafting is now live, letting you produce up to 10 items or cook 10 dishes simultaneously.
Storage hoarders also get a massive reprieve. The total storage capacity now nearly doubles, topping out at 9,000 slots.
Resetti returns with a functional purpose. His Reset Service offers granular island cleanup. He can wipe specific zones of weeds or flowers instantly, saving hours of manual labor.
