Star Citizen Finally Gets Playable Female Characters
Star Citizen is finally getting female playable characters. This feature will be available when the game’s 3.5 alpha update which is slated to roll out this weekend. “This has been a long time coming and it was a huge undertaking,” Star Citizen’s head honcho Chris Roberts said in a press release. Roberts added that they had to create an entirely new rig for female characters so they could make them “physiologically distinct from the male characters.”
Stalker 2 Teasers Have Sprouted Online
GSC Game World announced last year that they had started developing STALKER 2 again. Now, the game’s different social channels — its website, Facebook and Twitter — have suddenly come back to life with activity. The developers are hinting that they’ll be sharing more information about the game soon. STALKER 2 was first announced way back in 2010 however GSC ran into problems and had to close down. They re-opened in 2014 and has since released Cossacks 3.
Atlanta Reign’s ‘Dafran’ Retires from Overwatch League
Atlanta Reign has announced that Daniel “dafran” Francesca has retired from Overwatch League competitive play. The announcement comes just six months after Francesca joined the team. He won’t be ditching the scene though as he’ll be transitioning over to Atlanta Reign’s stream team. Although his Overwatch League stint seemed like it was only starting, Francesca proved to be one of the League’s most popular players. In fact, his licensed OWL jerseys became the top-seller in the line.
Pathologic 2 Launches in May
Narrative-driven adventure game Pathologic 2’s release date has just been announced. The game is set to arrive on Steam come May 23rd. A new trailer was also released. The short video gives players a preview of the game’s creepy world and its sick and depressed people whom you’ll be trying to save. The game will only give players 12 in-game days to save the plague-stricken time while also trying to take care of your own needs — food, water and sleep.
Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Get Free 4K Texture Packs
Gearbox is giving players a reason to revisit both Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel as they wait for Borderlands 3. Both games will be getting an Ultra HD texture pack for free. The texture pack will add 4K texture, as well as other graphical improvement. These include higher resolution dynamic shadows, improved Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, and upgraded anti-aliasing. The free Ultra HD texture pack will be arriving for both games come April 3rd.
Borderlands 3 Confirmed, First Gameplay Trailer Released
With Gearbox dubbing 2019 as “The Year of Borderlands”, the studio has finally announced Borderlands 3. The announcement comes with a four-minute trailer that gives fans a quite a preview of how the game looks and a bit of the gameplay as well. Borderlands 3 will feature four new Vault Hunters to choose from and multiple planets to explore. There’s also over a billion guns to collect. Gearbox will be revealing more about the game on April 3rd.
Xenoblade Developer Working on New Legend of Zelda Game
Monolith Soft, the studio behind the Xenoblade Chronicles series, has posted several job openings for a new Zelda game. We don’t know what specific Zelda game they’re developing at the moment, or even how far along the game is in the development process. One thing’s for sure though. Monolith is no stranger to the Zelda series as they actually helped out in the development of both Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild. As for their current project, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement for more details.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition Announced
Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver have announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition. This edition includes the enhanced version of the base game as well as all DLCs released for the game so far. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition will be available for players on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting May 28, 2019.
Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition Comes as Free Upgrade for Existing Players
The original Borderlands game is getting an updated version on April 3rd, and it’s free for existing players! The new Game of the Year Edition will include a bunch of small but significant tweaks, including a mini map that players can switch on or off Borderlands 2 style. The game’s inventory system has also been simplified, and players can now pick up items like ammo and health automatically from the ground. Also, the game’s final boss has been tweaked too, giving players a tougher, more rewarding challenge.
DC Universe Online Justice League Dark Out Now
Daybreak Games announced the latest major content for DC Universe Online. The new episode, Justice League Dark is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Justice League Dark brings new and returning heroes and villains as well as new single-player and multiplayer adventures set in new locations. These new locations also have new rewards in store for players.
Borderlands Card Game Revealed During PAX East
At the recently concluded PAX East, Gearbox Software has announced a Borderlands card game. The game is called Borderlands: Tiny Tina’s Robot Tea Party, and it puts two to five players as they compete at creating their own claptrap. The game takes the signature Borderlands cell-shaded art style. Players who wish to order a copy and want get more information about the game can do so through the game’s official website.
Porting Company Panic Button Brings Hob and Torchlight 2 to Consoles
Panic Button recently announced that it is porting Hob to the Nintendo Switch. The company also said they will be porting Torchlight 2 to consoles, but never specified which consoles would be hosting the title. It is worth mentioning that Hob is currently available on PS4 and PC, but Hob: The Definitive Edition is a Switch exclusive. As for Torchlight 2, it is odd that the company was reluctant to specify the consoles the game is coming to, but time will tell.
Risk of Rain 2 Out Now on Steam Early Access
Hopoo Games is pleased to announce that Risk of Rain 2 has come to Steam Early Access. Risk of Rain was regarded as one of the best indie PC games in recent years which is incentive enough for fans to try the sequel now on Steam. Risk of Rain 2 has also been a recipient of overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam thus far. It comes bearing extra dimensions and more challenges. You do not have to try the game alone as it allows you to merge forces with up to three friends.
Bulletstorm is Heading to Switch This Summer
People Can Fly has announced that their first-person shooter game, Bulletstorm is coming to the Nintendo Switch this summer. This news came by word of the developer at the Gearbox panel at PAX East. The version of Bulletstorm that will be ported to the Switch is called Bulletstorm: Duke of Switch Edition. Said Edition features all of the extra content from the PS4, Xbox One, and PC remaster released in 2017. The exact release date is yet to be divulged.
Borderlands 1 Remaster to Launch Next Week
Gearbox confirmed that Borderlands 1 remaster is coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on April 3, 2019. This version of the game comprises of the base game and all DLC. It also introduces new weapons, “substantial” visual upgrades, as well as numerous gameplay enhancements and quality of life improvements. It is also important to note that all existing owners of Borderlands 1 on Steam will be able to upgrade to the Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition free of cost.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s The Grand Caiman DLC Now Available
Shadow Of The Tomb Raider has received a new DLC entitled The Grand Caiman. In this bit of downloadable content, players must pilot Lara Croft as she attempts to fend off a “ferocious deity” that’s terrorizing the villages of San Juan. The DLC also features new gear, which includes a Reptile Hide outfit that awards you defensive stats that reduce the damage you take from projectiles. A special silenced shotgun will also be available to you. The DLC is accessible for all season pass owners.
We Happy Few’s DLC Release Date Announced
Gearbox has set April 4, 2019 as the release date for We Happy Few’s first DLC pack, They Came From Below. The announcement was made during the studio’s keynote address at PAX East. In the same presentation, Gearbox also shared that the first piece of downloadable content will be available for purchase individually. Conan Unconquered to Launch in May
Petroglyph’s real-time-strategy, survival game Conan Unconquered, will be released on May 30th, 2019. According to the developer, when Conan Unconquered graces the gaming world with its presence it will come in a Standard as well as a Deluxe edition. The Standard edition is self-explanatory, but the Deluxe edition consists of the base game, a digital version of the soundtrack, an eBook based on the Conan short story Black Colossus, the Kalanthes in-game hero, and a second hero.
Dreams PS4 Early Access Begins April 16th
Media Molecule’s sandbox game Dreams is set to be released in Early Access on the 16th of April for PS4. As with all Early Access games, this is not the full game that is being released but a rough draft for players to test core functions like designing games, creating music and sculpting characters. Media Molecule’s Studio Director Siobhan Reddy said the team is hoping to acquire the sufficient feedback required to make Dreams an amazing space for creators and players alike for years to come.
Kingdom Hearts – The Story So Far Out Now in Europe
Square Enix is elated to announce that Kingdom Hearts’ The Story So Far is currently available across Europe and PAL territories. For those who aren’t yet aware, The Story So Far is an amalgamation of all nine Kingdom Hearts issues. With this compilation, the developer seeks to award players an opportunity to relive the full magical adventures of Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy and friends as they attempt to protect their universe from the Heartless invasion.
Breach Update Adds New Class and Challenge System
Breach has received an Early Access update that sees the addition of a new Shadow Master Veil Demon Class. This class is really unique as it enables players to clone their enemy and utilize deployable buff stations to enhance their possessed minions. The update also featured a Challenge System that allows players to unlock in-game rewards for each class as they level that class up to 30. In addition, each class will be able to unlocks, gems, and talents specific to said class.
Shadowgate Gets a Console Release Date
Shadowgate is scheduled for release for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on April 11, 2019. Shadowgate developer, Zojoi says this new console version is an improved version of the massively re-vamped PC version of the original Game. This console version comes with a refined user interface and an intuitive wheel-based icon command system. Abstraction Games worked in conjunction with Zojoi to enhance the experience with new ideas allowing a refreshing creative direction.
