ESRB Posts Rating of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger for Switch
The ESRB has published a rating for Call of Juarez: Gunslinger for the Nintendo Switch. This could mean that the 2013 western game could be coming to the handheld sometime in the future. On top of this, Techland has reportedly begun sending out viral marketing to some media outlets. It includes information that an official reveal is scheduled on October 24th.
Battlefield 5: War in the Pacific Update to be Revealed Soon
DICE is set to reveal Battlefield 5’s War in the Pacific update on October 23rd, according to the most recent tweet from the Battlefield Twitter handle. In Chapter 5, players will be welcoming three new maps which includes Iwo Jima. It will also add two new factions: the United States and Japan. Players can also expect seven new weapons and gadgets, plus new vehicles, including a boat. The full reveal will be streamed via the official Battlefield 5 YouTube channel.
Pathologic 2 Marble Nest DLC Coming Next Week
Developer Ice-Pick Lodge has announced The Marble Nest, Pathologic 2’s new DLC. The Marble Nest is free for players who own the base game, and it brings a single-day, standalone story. Players will play as Dr. Daniil Dankovsky for a day, and he is out there to try to save the town “alongside the Haruspex, and uncover a different perspective on the events—and Death itself.” This standalone expansion is also available as a separate purchase.
Fortnite Has Mythic Gold Fish That Kills in One Hit
Fortnite Chapter 2 arrived last week, and one of its additions is fishing. Players can reel in weapons and items from bodies of water in the map, and it turns out the rumored Mythic Goldfish is one of them. Dataminers have previously discovered the Mythic Goldfish in the game’s files, and now it looks like it is indeed included in Chapter 2. On Reddit, a player named BlakeBenbow posted footage of how it killed him in one hit. His post reads, “I was eliminated by a mythic goldfish! I thought it wasn’t in the game yet!”
Hitman 2 Welcomes Halloween with Themed Escalation Contract
IO Interactive has revealed what Agent 47 is up to this Halloween. Over on Twitter, the company revealed Hitman 2’s Halloween event which comes with a Halloween-themed Escalation Contract. It kicks off October 22nd, and “promises to challenge all of your expectations,” the tweet says. This mission, according to the announcement, is permanent, and will also reward players with two unique rewards — if they are brave enough to complete it.
Steam’s Remote Play Together Now in Beta
Steam’s Remote Play Together feature, which allows players to play local multiplayer games online, is now in beta. The feature works for any game that supports local co-op, local multiplayer, or shared/split-screen functionality. It can support up to four players, but Valve also said it could support more “in ideal conditions”. To take part in the beta, interested participants should join Steam’s beta branch and download its latest build.
Skateboarding Game Session Xbox Release Delayed
Crea-ture Studios announced that the console version of its skateboarding game, Session, won’t be launching on the Xbox One on its supposed release date. The title was originally scheduled to launch this month on Xbox One, however, the developer “still need[s] more time to port Session to Xbox One” so they decided to delay the release to late November or early December this year. Session launched on Steam Early Access in September.
American Truck Simulator: Utah Coming to Steam in November
American Truck Simulator is heading to Utah with its new DLC. American Truck Simulator: Utah is set to launch in November. The Utah map spans Glen Canyon Dam in Arizona through the Dam Bridge to Salina. The expansion’s trailer showcases the vast landscapes the map offers, including beautiful historic towns, well-known landmarks, and some of the famous red rocks the state is known for.
Prison Architect Psych Ward DLC Coming to PC
Psych Ward, Prison Architect’s previously-console-exclusive DLC is finally heading to PC. The expansion will be launching November 21st in the form of Psych Ward: Warden’s Edition. This expansion will have players manage criminally insane inmates — these prisoners enter the facility with the trait already in effect. It also introduces Psychiatrists to handle problem inmates. This expansion also brings new inmate behaviors, plus new customization items such as padded floors and walls.
MLB The Show 20 Cover Athlete Revealed
SIE San Diego has unveiled its cover athlete for MLB The Show 20. For this upcoming game, the Chicago Cubs’ Javier “El Mago” Baez has been chosen as the cover star. Baez is decked with a .290 batting average in 2018, with 34 home runs and 111 RBIs. Also revealed is the game’s release date, which is March 17, 2020. Players who decide to pre-purchase their copy, or any of the special editions, will receive bonuses such as Team Avatars, Stubs, and a lot more.
The Witcher 3 Switch Makes it to UK Top 10
The Witcher 3 debuted on the Nintendo Switch last week, and the UK Sales Chart shows it made the top 10 games for week ending October 19th, as it lands on the fourth spot. FIFA 20 still remains the best-selling game for the said period, followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint also made it to the top, sitting at number 3. The chart reflects in-store physical sales only.
Skull Trooper Skin Returns to Fortnite’s Item Shop
The Skull Trooper skin is back in the Fortnite Item Shop as part of its Halloween festivities. Also back is the Skull Ranger skin. Aside from these, a new pickaxe, back bling, and glider are also available to complete the spooky look. These skins only come once a year to the game. Also available this Halloween is the Ghoul Trooper skin.
Borderlands 3’s Bloody Harvest Event Kicks Off October 24th
Gearbox has finally revealed the launch date of Borderlands 3’s Halloween event, Bloody Harvest. The event kicks off October 24th, and is free for players who own the base game. Bloody Harvest adds Haunted enemies that appear in various locations, and they are equipped with a new “Terror” debuff that affects the character’s vision, gun handling, accuracy, and spread. Defeating them will reward players with the limited-time currency, Heckotplasm which they can trade-in for access to the Bloody Harvest map.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse Revealed at PDXCON
Developer Cyanide and publisher Bigben Interactive have revealed the first trailer for the upcoming action RPG Werewolf: The Apocalypse during the recently concluded PDXCON 2019. The trailer showcases the protagonist Cahal, showing how he shapeshifts when rage takes over him. Werewolf: The Apocalypse is about Cahal’s fight for his endangered tribe’s survival, amid the threat of the corporations that are out to destroy the environment. The game is set to release next year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Pantheon Gets 100% Ban Rate at League of Legends World Championships
Pantheon has a 100% ban rate at the League of Legends World Championships, according to the World’s latest stats. As of this report, Pantheon has been banned in all 50 games of the proper World Championships that have been played so far. Pantheon is a powerful champion who deals huge damage in a short time early on in the game. Whether Pantheon remains to be 100% banned during the Worlds is yet to be seen.
Darksiders Genesis Coming to PC in December
THQ Nordic has announced that Darksiders Genesis is coming to PC on December 5th. The action-adventure game will have players tear through hordes of demons and angels, equipped with melee and ranged weapons. Genesis also gives players a glimpse at the world of Darksiders before the events of the original game. It will also introduce players to the new horseman, Strife.
New Mech Shooter Uragun Announced for PC
Kool2Play has announced its upcoming mech top-down shooter, Uragun. The game is slated to launch for PC in 2020. Uragun puts players in a powerful mech unit that is tasked to take down swarms of smart AI bots. The game features locations from real-life cities, such as New York, London, Berlin, Moscow, Beijing and Warsaw. The game promises at least 10 hours of gameplay that includes missions in different locations which will challenge players to deploy different strategies as they progress.
The Protagonist: EX-1 Delayed to 2020
3Mind Games announced that its turn-based, tactical RPG, The Protagonist: EX-1 has been delayed to 2020. It will be available for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. The Protagonist: EX-1 is set in Terran, where its first contact with an alien species has gone wrong. An elite team led by ANGEL has been assembled to neutralize the alien threat, and players will have to think about their decisions as every choice affects the course of the game.
Escape from Tarkov Beta v0.12 Patch Coming Soon
Escape from Tarkov will be receiving its 0.12 patch. The new update migrates the game into the new version of Unity which allowed the developers to do “serious work to optimize the network and server components,” as well as remove bugs and implement new improvements for the game’s graphics. The update also adds a hideout for the player to upgrade and “restore the basic characteristics of his character.” A release date for the update is yet to be announced.
Asphalt 9: Legends Sells a Million Units on Switch
The fun arcade racing game Asphalt 9: Legends was able to sell more than one million units on the Nintendo Switch in just seven days of its launch on the platform. This amazing milestone had been announced by Gameloft’s VP Strategic Partnerships’ Guilherme Lachaut. He further adds that bringing the game to the Switch had been a community request for a long time. Asphalt 9: Legends offers online multiplayer modes that offers real-time racing with up to 8 players.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III Out Now
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 is now available in North America and Europe for the PlayStation 4 as proudly announced by NIS America. The game will also be available in Australia and New Zealand by October 29th. Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 offers the New Class 7 where players can explore newly annexed lands, also an immersive story can be experienced developed across three titles of the game, and a more honed combat system can be expected.
The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets Coming November 14
Fast Travel Games has announced its award-winning VR game The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets is launching on November 14th. The game will be playable for Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, Valve Index & Windows Mixed Reality. The game will have players solve the mystery of the stolen pets as they explore a miniature world which has been handcrafted especially for VR. Each world is unique, and full of interactions and puzzles.
