Bethesda Delays Fallout 76 NPC Expansion

Bethesda has announced that Fallout 76’s huge Wastelanders expansion won’t be launching anytime this year. In a post, Bethesda said the DLC will be delayed into the first quarter of 2020, because it “needs more time to be the best, most polished update it can be.” The Wastelanders expansion is Fallout 76’s “biggest free update yet,” and it “changes the entire world with human NPCs returning.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to Monetize Through Battle Pass

Activision has revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be monetized with a Battle Pass and an in-game store instead of loot boxes. The Battle Pass will be released on a seasonal basis, bringing new content that matches the season’s theme. It will also feature both free and premium reward tiers called Streams where base weapons, attachments, and COD Points can be earned through gameplay. Cosmetic items are included in the Battle Pass as well as the in-game store.

Anthem Celebrates Halloween with Limited-Time Event

BioWare has announced Anthem’s limited-time Halloween event, Season of Skulls. The event has already started, and is available for players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. With Season of the Skulls in place, Fort Tarsis has been redecorated, and players will be able to take on new activities. There are also new themed Anomalies for the game’s Freelancer, Arcanist, and Sentinel factions. The event will also reward players with crystals which can be used to purchase limited-time items and War Chests from Herschel’s Hut.

The Division 2 is Free to Play This Weekend

The Division 2 is celebrating the release of Episode 2 and Title Update 6 with a free weekend. From now until October 20th, players can play The Division 2 for free on the Epic Games Store on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Xbox One players will need to have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. The game will also be available at a discount until October 20th on Epic, and October 28th on Uplay, Microsoft Store, and Playstation Store.

Blizzard Working on Fix for Ashe’s Halloween Skin

Blizzard is working on a fix for Ashe’s Halloween skin in Overwatch. This comes after players complain that her Warlock skin also changes her weapon sights which made them less usable. Blizzard said they are still working out a time table for the patch which includes this fix, and thanked players for their patience. The Halloween Terror event is currently under way and runs until October 31st.

Super Broly Joins Dragon Ball FighterZ Soon

V-Jump’s December 2029 has leaked, and it includes information that Dragon Ball FighterZ will be adding Broly soon as a DLC. The Dragon Ball Super version of Broly is what the leak mentioned. The leak also revealed that Android 21 will be added to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 this Winter as a DLC as well. Bandai Namco is tight-lipped about this news at this time.

NBA 2K20 is Best-Selling Game for September

The NPD Group has published its video games sales report for September 2019. For the said month, NBA 2K19 emerged as the best-selling game, outnumbering Borderlands 3 and FIFA 20 which took the second and third spots respectively. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening made it to number 4, followed by Madden NFL 20 on fifth. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint also makes the list and takes the 6th spot. Gears 5 follows at number 7, with Code Vein, NHL 20, and Mario Kart 8 completing the list for the top 10.

Kingdom Under Fire 2 Gunslinger Class Revealed

MMORPG and RTS game Kingdom Under Fire 2 has revealed the new Gunslinger class. It is one of the five character classes in the game, joining Berserker, Elementalist, Ranger, and Spellsword. The Gunslinger is described as a “versatile human combatant” who “effortlessly switches between a sword and two pistols.” It uses an array of combos to attack targets and unleash an area of effect attacks. Kingdom Under Fire 2 is set to launch in November 2019.

Over 15 Million Switch Systems Sold in North America

In a press release, Nintendo has revealed that over 15 million Nintendo Switch systems have been sold in North America. This includes the original Switch as well as the recently released Nintendo Switch Lite. The company also revealed that Switch sales through September in North America were up more than 20 percent year to date. Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser said this milestone “comes just ahead of the Switch’s third holiday season” and Nintendo is entering the gift-giving months with a strong library of fresh and unique new releases.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Won’t Have Fast-Travel

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order won’t have a fast-travel system. The game’s producer Blair Brown said, “Not having fast travel encourages the player to go off the beaten path; find quick routes, and master the level.” Players can use certain landmarks on every planet to find their way. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launches for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 15th.

Fallout 76 Private Servers Launching Next Week

Fallout 76 private servers are coming really soon. Bethesda has announced that the much-awaited addition will be available “next week.” The announcement reads, “We’re happy to announce our work on the service for private servers is complete and will be launching next week! “The ability to play in your own private world with your friends has been the number one community-requested feature, and we’re thrilled it’s finally coming.” The studio also said players will also be able to mod their worlds in the future.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Introduces Blitztank

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is introducing its second character to the game and it is from the game Akatsuki Blitzkampf. The character is Bliztank, literally the tank plus its comrade-in-arms Akatsuki. They will be arriving via the version 2.0 update which will arrive on November 21st along with seven other DLC characters, new scenarios, balance changes and a UI overhaul. They won’t be available for free though, you must purchase the character expansion for around $25 USD.

Mortal Kombat 11 Halloween Skins Now Available

NetherRealm Studios is getting into the Halloween spirit with Mortal Kombat 11. New and fun outfits will be made available for three characters of the game, one of which is Jade who will have a Wicked Witch outfit, the next one is Liu Kang, sporting Day of the Dead-style Calavera body paint, and the last one is Kabal who is dressed like a poor man’s Jason Voorhees. The skin pack can be purchased at around $6 USD. With the costumes, come a new Holloween event with Halloween-themed modifiers and all.

Bleeding Edge Alpha Testing Announced

Alpha testing for online 4 versus 4 melee game Bleeding Edge will be starting on October 24th as announced by Ninja Theory. The game will focus on hand-to-hand combat with each character having their own weapons as well as a unique look. The PC version of the game will support controllers, have cross play and cross saves with Xbox One. One more thing, Bleeding Edge will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title. Those chosen for the alpha testing can download the game early next week for PC.

Minecraft Earth Launches on Early Access for New Zealand and Iceland

Minecraft Earth, the mobile variation of Minecraft is now available in early access in two countries. The two locations are New Zealand and Iceland. Minecraft Earth is available on iOS and Android. The game builds an interactive diorama and uses AR technology kind of like Pokemon Go. Other locations will be available soon. No news yet whether the game will have a PC release.

Team Fortress 2 Scream Fortress 11 Now Live

The Halloween 2019 event of Team Fortress 2 is now live and it is called Scream Fortress 11. The event comes with a king of the hill map called Laughter and a payload map called Precipice. Also, the Spooky Spoils which is a collection of themed cosmetics is also available. It will come with a bird head for the Engineer, a shark head for the Pyro and a two-piece velociraptor costume for the Scout. We will also get to see the return of the Soul Gargoyle. The event will run until November 7.

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Code Yellow has announced their game My Friend Pedro was able to reach half a million units in sales. To celebrate, this slow-motion murder platformer is getting additional modes and one of which is the ‘tiny player mode’ which is actually cute. This will come with the Code Yellow update which will also have 14 modifiers to the skateboard shoot-a-thon, a cinematic camera mode, a big head mode, and so much more. Plus a 30% discount is now available on Steam.

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] Collectors Edition Announced

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] or UNICLR is set to launch on February 20, 2020, for the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch. The game is said to cost around $39.99 USD and if you would want the Collector’s Edition, it will be $59.99 USD it comes with the game, the game’s soundtrack available on CD, a 96-page artbook, and a keychain for the game’s new character – Londerkia. There will also be balance updates and new moves for the existing characters.
