Resident Evil Requiem: PlayStation Store Leaks Leon Appearance

Capcom is only weeks away from releasing Resident Evil Requiem on February 27, 2025. However, fans of the iconic horror franchise were treated to an early festive present as the PlayStation Store seemingly accidentally leaked an image of Leon S. Kennedy, all but confirming his appearance in the game.

Resident Evil Requiem: PlayStation Store Leaks Leon Appearance

Despite Capcom‘s determined efforts to keep details of Leon’s appearance in the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem quiet, it’s now confirmed that he will return to the franchise.

The leak comes from the PlayStation Store via IGN, which updated the game’s cover art to show an older Leon S. Kennedy looming over the game’s female protagonist, Grace Ashcroft.

Analyzing Leon’s Gritty New Look

The artwork depicts a rough-looking Leon not too distant from his appearance in Resident Evil 4, including a warm-looking leather jacket, long, unkempt hair, and a greying beard.

Although far from a definitive picture of Requiem’s storyline or tone, Leon’s dishevelled look suggests Capcom is building on its recent remakes of RE2 and RE4, focusing on a gritty, realistic horror experience.

Leon’s Role in the Narrative

Rumors of Leon’s presence in Requiem have circulated since Capcom announced the game in June this year, with well-known Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem suggesting he will not only be a playable character but a possible main character alongside Grace.

While Capcom is keeping most details secret, the fact that Requiem is set in Racoon City, decades after the events of RE1 and RE2, this could be the perfect opportunity to bring Leon’s story to a close. But that is just speculative.

The Game Awards 2025: The Likely Reveal Stage

The PlayStation Store leak may prove to be ideal timing for Capcom to gain hype for Resident Evil Requiem ahead of The Game Awards 2025, which takes place on Thursday, November 11.

This “accidental” upload may precede Leon’s official reveal at TGA, where Capcom has already confirmed it will offer a “terrifying new look” at the game.

Awaiting the Full Reveal at TGA 2025

The early reveal of Leon S. Kennedy has generated excitement among fans, with everyone eager to see the Resident Evil Requiem showcase at The Game Awards 2025. Now, it’s up to Capcom to determine the best way to officially unveil the next chapter of his story.
