Hell Clock (HC) is the new action RPG roguelike title from the team at Rogue Snail. A Brazilian development team founded in 2014, known for the popular Relic Hunters game series. HC was officially unveiled in December 2024 as the team’s new major project, presenting a roguelike action RPG with a dark historical twist.

Hell Clock: Available Starting Today

Today marks the long-awaited launch of Hell Clock, the new dark fantasy action RPG from the Brazilian team at Rogue Snail. The game was initially scheduled to launch on 18 June 2025, but the team decided to postpone the launch by a month. And so, today, 22 July 2025, marks the official launch of the game on Steam.

The launch was preceded by the “Dear God” Trailer, presented at the PC Gaming Show 2025 on 9 June. It showed the game in action, featuring a roguelike action RPG in a dungeon crawler style. It takes us to the year 1986 in the shoes of Pajeú, in a race against time to save his mentor’s soul, which is trapped by mysterious and terrible dark forces intent on hiding the truth.

Hell Clock: Gameplay and Key Features

Rogue Snail’s new experience shines a light on an event that is often unknown to many. It offers an action-roguelike experience with an intriguing subplot that makes you think. Follow the warrior Pajeú on a dangerous mission to save the truth. It offers:

• A Race Against Time: Descend into a literal hell as Pajeú to save the soul of The Counselor. Face hordes of undead oppressors where every second counts.

• Create Your Build: With the ability to create your own build thanks to powerful Relics. Also, unleash hellish powers with bullet rains, instant stabs, and more.

• Rewrite History: With each descent, you’ll be able to rewrite history. With every Blessing, you can confront the demons of the past, future, and present.

All of this is accompanied by a Game Campaign divided into 3 Acts, as well as the Endgame Ascension, with an overview from Creative Director Mark Venturelli. It offers a seasonal-style reset for the experience, starting from scratch with new customization of difficulty and mechanics. Ascension will arrive in a Beta state with balancing and improvements in the coming months.
