Dawntrail is a dlc that requires Final Fantasy XIV Online to be played. You can buy it separately or with the base game by purchasing the 'Complete Edition'. And set sail for the continent of Tural, with its turquoise waters, waterfalls and forests, and its semblance of a wild and paradisiacal land, but that's just for show. There are new combat mechanics, the bosses have been reworked and you'll discover a brand new storyline.
The recent expansion seems weaker than any previous DLC. FINAL FANTASY XIV: Dawntrail didn't receive a warm reception as for now, however, it becomes more engaging and interesting as you progress. Overall, if you love the base game and want to discover more content, then go for it!

Dawntrail will feature a more relaxed tropical location along with a new story arc and a new playable race. The expansion also introduces two new jobs, an increased level cap and a graphical update to make the game more appealing visually by today's standards.
Dawntrail is a new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV that will take the players to a distant shore across the sea for new adventures in a whole map covering a new continent. Players will have 2 new jobs/classes, new skills for existing jobs, increased level cap, lots of new dungeons and raids and a new playable race. All in all it is a great expansion for this MMO that will have the fans busy with so many new content.
