Three new games were added to Xbox Game Pass Core on April 23, 2024. This recent addition makes the games list available to its subscribers, a collection of 41 high-quality Xbox first-party titles and highly-acclaimed indie games.

Game Pass Core successfully replaced Xbox Live Gold seven months ago. Although the transition received mixed feelings as the two monthly free games were being discontinued in favor of a catalog, that reception has completely changed now.

The Core library which started off with 19 titles, has not ballooned to 41 high-quality games. The list is updated 2-3 times a year so we should see more movement by summer. The plan states “over 25 high quality games” so we might also see some games being dropped in the next update.

For now, let’s enjoy Deep Rock Galactic, Superhot: Mind Control Delete, and Wreckfest on Game Pass Core.

Deep Rock Galactic

Deep Rock Galactic is a co-op FPS where you play as a space dwarf who works for the Deep Rock Galactic mining company. Your job is to descend into procedurally generated cave systems, mine valuable resources, and fight off hordes of hostile aliens.

This highly-rated game can be played with up to 4 players and features four unique character classes: Scout, Gunner, Driller, and Engineer.



Superhot: Mind Control Delete

Superhot: Mind Control Delete is another highly-rated FPS and serves as the sequel to the original Superhot. Like the first game, your goal is to survive and eliminate all the red, hostile figures in each level.

It has a significantly larger campaign and expands on the core mechanics by incorporating roguelike elements offering a longer and more replayable experience.



Wreckfest

Wreckfest is a demolition derby-themed racing game which combines elements of demolition derby, destruction derby, and racing games. The game is known for its realistic physics simulation which is especially evident in the way it handles vehicle damage.

Cars crumple and deform in real-time based on the severity of the collision, which can significantly affect the driving dynamics of your car. This makes every race unpredictable and exciting, as a single hit can send you from first place to spinning out of control.
