2XKO Season 1 and Console Launch Times Announced
2XKO’s console launch and Season 1 go live Jan 20 at 5PM PT. Riot confirms 9-hour downtime, with offline mode still playable.
2XKO, the free-to-play fighting game from Riot, is finally making its jump to consoles. The much-awaited release on Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5 is happening on January 20th, alongside the beginning of Season 1.
2XKO Season 1 and Console Launch Times
After launching on PC in 2024, 2XKO quickly built a dedicated PC player base thanks to its accessible mechanics and fast, team-focused combat. While Riot had always confirmed that console versions were planned, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 players were left waiting without a firm release date.
But that has finally came into focus last month when Riot accidentally published a new trailer that revealed 2XKO is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on January 20. The early reveal also confirmed earlier statements from Riot that the console release would coincide with the start of the game’s first official season. So PC players can also look forward to that date with a new champion, a Battle Pass, and additional seasonal content.

With the launch now just a week away, Riot has shared the exact rollout schedule. Both the console launch and the start of Season 1 will go live on January 20 at 5PM PT / 8PM ET, which translates to January 21 at 1AM GMT. In preparation, Riot announced that game servers will be taken offline for roughly nine hours ahead of launch to deploy the update and ensure a smooth transition into the new season.
The downtime will not completely stop players from accessing the game though. Riot noted that 2XKO’s offline mode will remain available as long as players have logged in at least once on their device. This allows fans to continue practicing and exploring the game while servers are prepared for the Season 1 debut.
With its console release finally locked in and Season 1 ready to begin, 2XKO is about to take its biggest step forward since its PC debut.
