Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has released a gameplay trailer during a Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Direct, offering six minutes of action ahead of the two games releasing as a bundle on February 12, 2026.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is an action-packed combo featuring an “extreme remake of Yakuza 3 that overhauls “every aspect” of the game, while Dark Ties is an all-new entry featuring the origin story of Yoshitaka Mine, the game’s antagonist.
The Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Direct offered a glimpse at combat, story, characters, and features ahead of the highly anticipated launch on February 12, 2026, for PC, PS5, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

Double-Feature Deal: Release Info
The “Dark Ties” bundle lands early next year, effectively handling the “black sheep” of the franchise (Yakuza 3) with the respect it deserves, including enhanced graphics, all-new cutscenes, and overhauled combat.
SEGA’s Direct clarified that this is a single purchase containing two distinct experiences. You get the full graphical overhaul of Kiryu’s Okinawan saga, paired with “Dark Ties,” a dedicated prequel focused on the fly-on-the-wall villain, Mine.

Kiwami 3: Combat Reinvented
Forget the “block-heavy” nightmare of the PS3 original. The remake introduces the “Ryukyu Style,” a weapon-based stance rooted in Okinawan martial arts.
Kiryu can now wield a tinbe and rochin (shield and short spear), nunchaku, and even an eiku (oar) seamlessly in battle. The footage shows a fluidity that the Dragon Engine often lacked in earlier titles.
The “Dragon Boost” system also returns, allowing Kiryu to trigger explosive finishers like piledrivers when his gauge maxes out. It looks brutal, fast, and satisfyingly technical.
Dark Ties: The Rise of Mine
The real surprise is the 2007 prequel campaign. Players control Yoshitaka Mine during his transition from a failed startup founder to a Tojo Clan legend.
This isn’t a reskin. Mine features a unique “Shoot-Boxing” style that emphasizes aerial mobility and defense-breaking combos. The standout mechanic is “Dark Awakening,” which is a brutal and powerful fighting style.
By building up the “Shackled Heart” gauge, Mine sheds his cool businessman facade and goes berserk. Animations shift from elegant strikes to raw, feral violence, dragging enemies across the pavement.
