XboxEra Officially Becomes DayOne Following Brand Sunset

XboxEra rebrands as DayOne, expanding beyond Xbox to cover all of gaming with a new site, new vision, and exciting plans ahead.

XboxEra officially launched in 2019 and, over the years, became a go-to for everything Xbox. Whether fans were tuning into the team’s long-running podcast, reading in-depth reviews, or keeping up with breaking announcements and features on the site, XboxEra built a reputation as a reliable and passionate voice in the Xbox community.

Now, as the outlet approaches its seventh year, the team is entering a new chapter and it expands beyond Xbox. XboxEra has officially rebranded as DayOne, signaling a broader vision for the future and an exciting evolution for everyone involved.

XboxEra Ends, DayOne Begins

Rebranding is never an easy decision especially for a site as established as XboxEra. And with 2025 being their biggest year to date, the choice to sunset the brand is even more challenging. Still, staying true to the spirit that built XboxEra in the first place, the team decided it was time to explore more of the gaming space and follow their creative instincts. That decision ultimately gave birth to DayOne.

The transition from XboxEra to DayOne officially began during XboxEra Podcast Episode 300, marking a symbolic turning point for the brand. Shortly after, Jon Clarke published a detailed post on the website explaining the reasoning behind the change and what it means going forward. At its core, the rebrand reflects the team’s desire to expand coverage beyond Xbox and more fully embrace gaming as a whole including PC, VR, Nintendo, and PlayStation.

This shift goes far beyond a simple name change. DayOne launches with a new website design which the team notes will continue to evolve over time, and a restructuring of how the outlet is supported. XboxEra is moving away from Patreon in favor of an in-house membership system, allowing the team to have greater control over how content is published and how the platform grows.

Importantly, the team has reassured existing Patreon supporters that their support will carry over. Accounts will be migrated to the new membership system, maintaining the same level of access fans already enjoy. On top of that, membership perks will include ad-free browsing, early access to content, members-only forums, and other exclusive features. The goal is to have all of these changes fully implemented by the end of February.

With DayOne, the team is clearly embracing a fresh start while carrying forward the values and community that defined XboxEra. It’s an exciting move and one that opens the door to broader coverage and new opportunities.
