Blizzard has confirmed Group Loot is returning in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight.

Blizzard is returning to the group greed vs. need looting system for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Dragonflight.
World of Warcraft has not featured the Group Loot system since 2016, and Blizzard has revealed what changes have been made to ensure there’s no abuse of the system.
In the changes, Need/Greed will not recognize if an item is meant for your spec or not, will not allow you to roll Need for anything not your class, and main spec will take priority over off-spec.
Other system changes will see you unable to roll Need for an item you’re already wearing or be able to win multiples of the same item.
Blizzard hopes that changing the Group Loot system will make for a fairer and more rewarding experience when raiding and completing dungeons.
