MICROSOFT’S NEW WINDOWS 11 DEVELOPMENT CYCLE
Microsoft is shifting Windows 11 engineering schedule after they learned a few things from Windows 10 and its development cycle.
Microsoft is reverting to its traditional three-year release schedule for major Windows 11 feature updates.
The change to every three years will see Microsoft roll out more minor feature updates more regularly throughout the year, up to four times a year.
Microsoft calls these updates “Moments,” allowing Windows 11 teams to release the updates they’ve been testing in the Insider program much faster.
The first of these “Moments” will reportedly arrive in early 2023, with the first major feature updates for Windows 11 released in 2024.
