Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22557 is now available to download for Windows Insiders, and it adds new features, improvements, and refinements.
New in the latest build is creating folders for the pinned apps in Start.
You can create folders by dragging apps on top of one another, where you can rearrange, remove, and rename those folders.
You can also now set Do Not Disturb for notifications, where you can silence notifications and use Focus to minimize distractions when working.
Microsoft has also added Live Captions, which can be activated using the WIN + CTRL + L shortcut.
Live Captions will add automatic captions to any audio, including microphone audio, and appear in a floating window.
The Task Manager also gets an update, including a new design, navigation bar, and Dark Mode.
One important update is that Microsoft now requires anyone that downloads Windows 11 to have a Microsoft account and an internet connection.
Microsoft states that users only need to sign into a Microsoft account and be connected to the internet during the initial Windows 11 setup and installation phase.
Windows 11 Home users already needed a Microsoft account, and the recent update means Windows 11 Pro users will also require one.
Other improvements come to Nap Layouts, Narrator, Microsoft Edge, Touch, and File Explorer.
