Shueisha Games announces anime survival RPG Wild Wild Eden for 2027

Shueisha Games and developer Magnus Games Studio have officially unveiled Wild Wild Eden, a new anime-style open-world survival crafting RPG. Originally teased in 2023 under the working title Project Survival, the game shifts the survival genre focus from resource exploitation to building genuine emotional bonds with the local wildlife.

What is Wild Wild Eden?

Wild Wild Eden is an anime-inspired open-world survival crafting RPG developed by Magnus Games Studio and published by Shueisha Games. Players explore a shattered, untamed planet where they must gather resources, build settlements, and tame mysterious creatures to survive and rebuild civilization.

Set generations after a catastrophic disaster forced humanity to flee, survivors return to a drastically changed home world. The environment now features floating landmasses, forgotten ruins, and diverse biomes ranging from shimmering seas to towering mountains.

Players are given total freedom to construct their bases anywhere across the map, from the tops of waterfalls to the interiors of active volcanoes. The core gameplay loop integrates these habitats with life simulation elements like farming, fishing, and resource automation.

A World Built on Bonds, Not Just Resources

Traditional survival titles often treat wildlife as a mere stepping stone for crafting upgrades, but Magnus Games Studio is taking a distinctly different approach. The creatures populating this shattered planet act as active companions, assisting with combat, traversal, and daily settlement chores.

Assistant Producer Raycley Zhang noted that the team focused on the bond between players and their monsters, allowing them to exist as true members of the family rather than tools. Players can utilize a deep genetic breeding system to pass on specific traits, abilities, and rare color variations to future generations.

According to the official announcement from Shueisha Games, players can capture these beasts using traps and Dream Brew, eventually riding them across land and sky. The game will support both solo play and online multiplayer, allowing groups to collaborate on massive architectural projects or tackle intense boss fights.

When is the Wild Wild Eden Release Date?

Wild Wild Eden is scheduled to release in Steam Early Access during the first quarter of 2027. Shueisha Games has confirmed that the title will be available exclusively on PC at launch, with support for Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean languages.

The extended development timeline stems from a major engine change implemented after its initial 2023 reveal at BitSummit. Producer Masakazu Kobayashi stated that this shift allowed the team to significantly evolve both the visual fidelity and the core mechanics of the project.

As the 2027 launch window approaches, the developers plan to share more details regarding the multiplayer scaling and the full extent of the creature breeding system. Until then, survival fans can follow the project’s progress directly on the official Steam page.
