Warner Bros. Games restructures as the company focuses on major franchises such as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Mortal Kombat. This restructuring sees the promotion of three studio heads to vice president roles.

Warner Bros. Games has announced a restructuring of key leadership roles as the company focuses on its four leading game franchises: Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat, and DC.
As reported by Variety, three studio heads have been promoted to senior vice president roles to oversee the various development teams working across the different franchises.
Why Warner Bros. Games Is Restructuring
WB Games is shifting strategy in response to evolving markets, which has seen the company close multiple studios and cancel the Wonder Woman game and Hogwarts Legacy DLC.
The restructure, Warner Bros. Games says, is so they can focus on “optimizing our team structure to develop long-term franchise roadmaps to delight players and fans of Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat and DC games.”
Which Franchises Will Lead the Future
Per Variety via Warner Bros. Games, the following changes have been made: Warner Bros Games Montréal’s Yves Lachance is now senior vice president of development, overseeing the development teams working on Harry Potter and Game of Thrones games, NetherRealm’s Shaun Himmerick will oversee Mortal Kombat and DC games, while Warner Bros. Games New York’s Steven Flenory now oversees game and publishing technology, customer service, quality assurance and user research.
In a statement, global Streaming & Games CEO J.B. Perrette said: “We are very fortunate to have a strong stable of development and technology talent, and Yves, Shaun, and Steven are respected leaders with excellent track records in their areas of expertise. I’m looking forward to working closely with them and the team as we work to make the best games possible for our key franchises.”
What This Means for Gamers
Warner Bros. Games is keen to focus on the most profitable franchises it owns. The news is good for fans of those IPs as they can expect more titles, DLC, and content.
Unfortunately for everyone else, it means fewer original IPs and less investment in smaller development teams going forward. Ultimately, the company decided a restructuring was needed after its poor start to 2025, which saw several studios shut.
Conclusion
Warner Bros. Games is restructuring as three studio heads move into senior vice president roles. WB Games is keen to focus on its Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, DC, and Mortal Kombat franchises. Do you think its a good decision by WB Games? Share your thoughts in the comments.
