Saber Interactive has canceled the beta for the upcoming Space Marine 2. But what does this mean for the game, and is it still on course for a September release?

Is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Delayed?

In a bitter blow to all 40K fans, Saber Interactive has canceled the upcoming online public beta for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The move, the developer says, is to “prepare for the full launch.”

The decision by Saber, revealed in an update on Steam, is to ensure the third-person action game is ready day one. Unfortunately, as Saber saw it, a beta would take “the development teams away from preparing for the full launch.”

Those worrying of a possible delay can be relieved that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 appears to be “almost ready.” It’s just about “optimization, polish and fixing remaining issues” ahead of the release on September 9 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
