Ubisoft Acquires March of Giants From Amazon Games Including The Whole Team
Ubisoft acquires MOBA March of Giants from Amazon, bringing the IP and its veteran dev team under its wings.
During a year with persistent rumors of Ubisoft for sale, it was actually them who did some buying. In a recent announcement, Ubisoft officially acquires in-development MOBA game, March of Giants, from Amazon Games.

While Amazon scales back on its gaming division, Ubisoft is digging its feet in more as March of Giants changes its home. In an official announcement on Ubisoft’s website, the in-development MOBA game will now be part of its portfolio.
Along with the IP, Ubisoft also acquired the whole team behind the game. This includes industry veterans who previously worked at Ubisoft including Xavier Marquis, original creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, and Alex Parizeau, former Managing Director of Ubisoft Toronto. They stand as the Creative Director and Senior Production lead for March of Giants, respectively.
Marquis shared, “Returning to Ubisoft brings things full circle. We built some of our most meaningful work here, and we’re excited to continue developing March of Giants from within Ubisoft. This game has enormous potential, and I know Ubisoft can help us take it to the next level.”
Parizeau added, “My thanks go to Amazon for their commitment during the first chapters of March of Giants. Our closed alpha was an important milestone and showed a glimpse of the game’s real promise. Now, by joining Ubisoft, we’re uniting behind a shared vision to build March of Giants into one of the next great, enduring MOBAs.”
The full details of the sale is of course confidential but the deal is said to close today. Also, as per reports, the agreement includes promotional support from Amazon for March of Giants on Twitch.
March of Giants is a free-to-play 4v4 tactical multiplayer online battle arena that puts players in control of massive giant heroes fighting across a war-torn urban battlefield inspired by early 1900s technology. Blending lane-based MOBA action with real-time strategy elements, players command battalions of smaller units, deploy battlefield structures like trenches, tanks, turrets, and bunkers, and coordinate large-scale attacks to overpower the opposing team through tactical positioning and mastery of their chosen giant.
The game was announced in August and held its closed alpha testing a month after. The next playtest is expected for next year and no release window has been revealed.
