Tormented Souls 2 is the second chapter of the Dual Effect survival horror series. A small Chilean development team that brought the first chapter in 2021, published by PQube. An homage to classic survival horrors like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Alone in the Dark, Fatal Frame, and Rule of Rose. The first chapter captured the hearts of many classic horror genre fans.
In this sequel, we follow the return of Caroline Walker as she follows the events of the first game. She travels to the remote town of Villa Hess and is once again drawn into a new nightmare. The game is slated to launch in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Buy the first Tormented Souls and experience a fantastic horror adventure that pays tribute to the genre’s classics!
Tormented Souls 2 – New Teaser and Demo Available Now
After a quiet period since October 2024, Dual Effect finally has new updates on Tormented Souls 2. Confirming its presence at the Latin America Game Showcase 2025, part of the Summer Game Fest. Official confirmation from the team and publisher PQube for a surprise on June 7, 2025.
The Story Trailer reveal titled ‘Sisterhood’ features the return of sisters Caroline and Anna Walker. Caroline searches for a way to restore a normal life for her sister, who is plagued by nightmares. What appears to be a welcoming remote town in Villa Hess soon turns into a new nightmare for the sisters. Along with the trailer, a demo is now available on Steam.
Tormented Souls 2: Demo Content and Latest Updates
A fantastic surprise for fans, with the new Story Trailer and a Demo now available on Steam. The demo offers about 60 minutes of gameplay, where the sisters visit the Clinic and Convent of Villa Hess at the suggestion of their friend Isabella. Discovering that the Mother Superior has kidnapped Anne, with the intention of continuing the work of the girls’ grandfather, Noah. You will guide Caroline through the convent’s narrow corridors searching for her sister, soon realizing she is not alone.
Among the latest updates, we can see the new look of Caroline, following the events of the first game. Wearing a more mature outfit while still maintaining a 90s vibe, inspired by the heroines of classic horror games from that time. With a touch of the Prince of Persia style from The Sands of Time and Warrior Within. The team also confirms that more details will be released in the coming months, with the game expected to launch by the end of 2025.
