The Secret of Weepstone is the new game in development by the small team at Talesworth Game Studio. A small studio from San Diego with the famous indie team DreadXP as its publisher. They’re offering a new game heavily inspired by the great classic pen-and-paper RPGs of the 80s. In particular, the famous Dungeons & Dragons.
In a Dungeon Crawler adventure based on dice and with a monochromatic style. You’ll play as one of the 6 inhabitants of the kingdom of Weepstone, searching for the origins and a possible cure for Lord Byron’s illness. The Secret of Weepstone Unveiled: A Classic Monochromatic Dungeon Crawler
With a surprise announcement on 13 August 2025, the team at Talesworth Game Studio and DreadXP unveil The Secret of Weepstone. The indie team’s new RPG game in the Dungeon Crawler style, with an interesting monochromatic style and hand-drawn art.
Accompanied by the official trailer that gives us a glimpse of the kind of experience that awaits us. Taking us to the monochromatic kingdom of Weepstone, a rural village whose Lord is afflicted by terrifying nightmares. Where 6 inhabitants must explore the mysterious dungeon to discover its origins. Offering a classic RPG experience with death and dice awaiting us.
The Secret of Weepstone: What We Know So Far
The new title from Talesworth Game Studio is therefore presented as a true love letter to the great classic pen & paper RPGs of the ’80s. A game that doesn’t hide its strong inspirations, particularly from Dungeons & Dragons, offering:
- Classic RPG Experience: With a Dungeon Crawler experience full of dangers and enemies, facing it all with a roll of the dice. Where luck and skill will have a strong impact on our survival.
- Gather Your Party: You can create a party of up to 8 characters, from simple villagers to true adventurers.
- Customization: As well as deep party customization with weapons, equipment, and items.
Facing classic fantasy enemies like the ever-present Goblins and Skeletons. But also new features like the Mortal Favors system that will grant perks to the party upon the death of one of the characters. The game is scheduled for release in 2026 on Steam. The team will be at PAX West 2025 from 29 August to 1 September with a playable live demo.
