The Relic: First Guardian (TRFG) is the Dark Fantasy Action RPG from the team at Project Cloud Games. A South Korean development team that’s making their debut with TRFG, first announced in late 2023. It brings a dark fantasy adventure to the world of The Relic, deeply inspired by Korean legends and folklore.

The game is published by the London-based publisher Perp Games, confirming the game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, as already confirmed in the first trailer. The Relic: First Guardian – Release Window Revealed at TGS 2025

Among the big surprises of the Tokyo Game Show 2025, we also have the team from Project Cloud Games bringing new details on The Relic: First Guardian. Their debut title as a dark fantasy action RPG in a semi-open world. They revealed the game’s Launch Window, which will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in early 2026.

Accompanied by a dedicated trailer, it takes us into the fantasy world of The Relic. In the continent of Arsiltus, swallowed by darkness and destruction. Where, in the shoes of the First Guardian, we must face the threat of the Brutals. With the goal of finding the fragments of the Relic and stopping oblivion and chaos.

The Relic: First Guardian – Extended Gameplay Showcase

An interesting debut title from the South Korean team, bringing a true dark fantasy experience in action RPG style. Accompanied by a strong soulslike touch to the gameplay and a semi-open world approach. The team also accompanies the Release Window reveal with an extended gameplay trailer of about 8 minutes. Introducing us to the ruined world of Arsiltus from the pre-Alpha build.

The first combat showcase takes place in a village attacked by bandits. Showing the daggers in action, one of the 5 available weapon classes. Making use of runes and items for character progression. Facing the boss Branko, The Bloodstained Shield, a powerful enemy armed with an Axe and Shield. Concluding with the arrival at the survivor’s camp in The Faded Mist Forest.

In Conclusion

The first showcase of TRFG certainly shows a very ambitious title from Project Cloud Games and Perp Games. It tries to blend a dark fantasy experience with elements of traditional Korean legends.
