The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon (Farewell, O Zemuria in Japan) is the latest installment in the celebrated JRPG series by Nihon Falcom. A series known as Trails or Kiseki, this is the third chapter of the Calvard Arc. It follows a story that intertwines the stories of Van Arkride, Rean Schwarzer, and Kevin Graham.
The title already debuted in Japan on 26 September 2024. It was initially planned for a Western launch in Fall 2025. But with the news at the end of June 2025, Nihon Falcom and NIS announced the decision to delay it to 2026, adding a Switch 2 version. Following the news of the delay of Trails beyond the Horizon to 2026, the NIS America team finally confirms the exact date. Confirming that the third chapter of the Calvard Arc in the JRPG series by Nihon Falcom will be available from 15 January 2026. This confirms the game’s launch on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, and PC.
The announcement was accompanied by the new “Unprecedented Mission” trailer. It introduces us to the new adventure awaiting Van Arkride and his companions. With the prophecy of Zemuria’s end drawing near and humanity’s first space launch, where 3 destinies will intertwine, uncovering the mysteries hidden behind Zemuria’s center.
The Legend of Heroes: Latest News on the Trails Series
Some good news for fans who will only have to wait until early 2026 to play this third chapter. With the news in late 2024 of another chapter planned that will conclude the Calvard saga. But we still know nothing about it, and it will probably take a few years before any official news drops.
Meanwhile, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter doesn’t seem to have been delayed. The Remake of the first chapter of the series will debut globally on 19 September 2025. Available on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. A title that Nihon Falcom has entrusted to the GungHo America team.
