The Chant: Survival Horror Game Launching on PC and Next-Gen

Brass Token’s upcoming horror survival game The Chant is launching in time for Halloween.

Developer Brass Token confirmed that The Chant will be launching only on PC and next-gen consoles (Xbox Series and Playstation 5). Previously, the developer included Xbox One and Playstation 4 in the initial list of platforms the game will be released on, however, its recent press release only mentioned “PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.”

On Twitter, Gematsu mentioned the game’s official Twitter account and asked, “Have the PS4 and Xbox One versions been cancelled?”

The Chant replied, “At this stage we are focusing development on Gen 9 and PC to make sure they meet the highest quality standards. News regarding Gen 8 versions will follow in the near future.”

What is The Chant?

The Chant is a psychedelic horror game where you play as one of the participants in a spiritual retreat in a remote island. What’s supposed to be a peaceful weekend turns dreadful when a group chant opens The Gloom, which is a psychedelic dimension that gets its power from negative energy.

To reverse the ritual, you must uncover what’s behind the cult as well as the mystery surrounding the island and reason it out with other survivors in order to keep their negative feelings at bay.

With The Gloom opened, prismatic creatures and cultists have been released and are out there to unleash terror all over the island. To survive, you must become mentally and spiritually strong against them by using meditation to access your supernatural abilities. You can also take your chances and fight them using crafted weapons from materials you find in the island.

When is The Chant Going to Be Released?

The Chant does not have an exact release date as of this time. The developers at Brass Token, however, mentioned in their website that it will be available sometime in October 2022.
