Velvet’s Revenge: Tales of Berseria Remastered Hits Modern Consoles in 2026
Hot on the heels of the recent Tales of Xillia Remastered launch, the Bandai Namco team drops a surprise announcement for Tales of Berseria Remastered!
Tales of Berseria is the sixteenth entry in the famous Tales series by Bandai Namco, originally released in 2016. This fantasy action RPG series first debuted in 1995 with Phantasia. It’s a beloved franchise that lets us explore various worlds blending technology and magic. This is the third chapter of the Remaster project that kicked off with Graces f in January 2025, followed by the recent launch of Xillia on 30 October 2025.

Tales of Berseria Remastered Announced: Arriving Before Xillia 2
Less than 3 weeks since the launch of Tales of Xillia Remastered, the Bandai Namco team reveals a surprise arrival: the Berseria Remastered. The team confirms the sixteenth chapter of the celebrated Action RPG series is coming in 2026. Specifically on:
- 27 February 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC
The third chapter (or fourth counting Symphonia for the console anniversary) of the Remaster project as part of the series’ 30th Anniversary celebration for 2025. Notably, this announces the adventures of Velvet and her companions before Xillia 2, which is confirmed already in development but hasn’t got an official announcement date yet.
What’s New in Berseria Remastered
With the announcement of Berseria, the Bandai team also confirms that they are not following the chronological release order as previously expected. Notably bringing Berseria before Xillia 2 and Vesperia. This chapter follows the story of Velvet Crowe, on the trail of Artorius after the tragic events that led to her village’s destruction. This Remaster brings some cool new features, namely:
- Remastered Graphics for modern systems
- QoL additions like the Destination icon and the Grade Shop unlocked at the start
- Original DLCs included (except for some licensed ones)
A Remaster mainly dedicated to availability on modern systems with higher resolutions and framerates. They also announced the game editions along with pre-orders. Including the classic Standard, and a Deluxe edition that includes the Digital Artbook and Soundtrack, as well as a Battle BGM pack.

In Conclusion: A Welcome but Questionable Remaster?
Berseria Remaster has certainly surprised many who were expecting Xillia 2 to arrive in early 2026. A remastered version of the 16th Chapter that many deem unnecessary, given the original chapter came out less than 10 years ago and the additions and graphical boost are almost imperceptible. The main advantage is the debut on Xbox and Switch in 2026, though once again missing a Switch 2 Version. Meanwhile, it seems Xillia 2 will arrive towards the second half of 2026.
