Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Launch Date Moved to July

Bandai Namco confirmed that the Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris launch date had been moved to July instead of the original launch date of May 22nd.



The announcement was made via Twitter, with the post saying, ”In order to ensure the best possible launch conditions for #SwordArtOnline Alicization Lycoris, we would like to share an update regarding the game’s release date”. This is followed by an image which you see below:

In the announcement, Bandai Namco said that the new Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris launch date is now on July 10, 2020. Also the delay was due to the “ongoing world events” which is the novel coronavirus. They also added that “we believe that this is the best way to ensure that Sword Art Online fans are delivered the best Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris experience.”

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is the very first Sword Art Online game that was adapted directly from the anime’s storyline. Here, Kirito will be in the Underworld where he finds Eugeo and forms a pact to work together. Kirito will find himself fighting against the Integrity Knights in the Central Cathedral to be able to complete his mission.
