Street Fighter 6 is shaping up to be one of the best so far in the franchise as a couple of very important details about it have been revealed.

Two awesome features have recently been revealed by two different sources. First is that Street Fighter 6 will include rollback netcode – something that Street Fighter 5 also has. Next is that the game also includes cross-play, which is also one of the most important features in video games today.

Street Fighter 6 director Takayuki Nakayama confirmed to IGN that rollback netcode will be included in the game. Street Fighter 5 also has this feature, but Street Fighter 6 won’t be having what Street Fighter 5 had.

According to Nakayama, Street Fighter 6’s rollback netcode is different from the previous game’s in the sense that it will be built from scratch.

“There’s a lot of effort being put into the development of the netcode. And it’s not something that only the netcode engineers are involved in. We’re involving the battle team to participate in that development to ensure that the experience is seamless and that it actually feels good. We’re working very hard towards it right now,” he explains.

Will Street Fighter 6 have rollback?

What is rollback netcode, though? In simpler terms, it is a type of netcode that makes online matches perform smoothly. Ars Technica explains it as “a method for two or more computers, each trying to play the same game, to talk to each other over the Internet” at its core.

Another good news is the addition of cross-play, which is really important for today’s gamers. With Street Fighter 6 launching in different platforms, this is good news since it allows players from any platform to play against each other.

  Is Street Fighter 6 crossplay?

Unfortunately, Capcom is tight-lipped about Street Fighter 6 cross-play details at this time, with a spokesperson saying to IGN, “More to be shared in the future so stay tuned.”

Is Street Fighter 6 on PC?

Fans of the franchise can expect to get their hands on Street Fighter 6 sometime in 2023 on PC via Steam, PS4/PS5, and Xbox Series.
