Steam is running over 15,000 discounts right now. We picked 12 of the biggest and checked whether you can find a better price somewhere else. Out of 12 titles tested, only 2 Steam deals actually beat every CD key store on the market. The rest? A CD key saves you anywhere from 14% to 57% more, on top of Steam’s own discount.
Here is the full breakdown, tested on April 30, 2026. Hit the Compare button on any row to see live prices from 30+ trusted stores.
Score: CD Keys 9, Steam 2, Tie 1. Only Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V at -95% genuinely beat every CD key store. For the other 9, a quick price comparison would have saved you between 14% and 57% more on top of Steam’s own discount. Most of these deals expire between May 3 and May 7, so check them before they disappear.
How We Tested
We filtered Steam’s 15,000+ active deals down to titles with at least 50% off and a base price above 20. Then we looked up the cheapest CD key for each on Allkeyshop (April 30, 2026). The “CD Key Extra” column shows how much cheaper the best key is compared to Steam’s already-discounted price. All figures are in percentages so they hold regardless of your currency.
