Starfield – Into the Starfield: Endless Pursuit

We don’t get to see much of Starfield, but in a recent video, Bethesda Softworks, alongside Game Director Todd Howard, revealed what they’ve been working on and what they are excited to see.

WHEN DOES STARFIELD RELEASE?

Starfield is Bethesda’s first new IP in 25 years and promises a next-generation RPG with unparalleled freedom.

In the video, which you can watch above, Todd Howard, along with Studio Director Angela Browden and Art Director Matt Carofano, talks about how their experience with Fallout and The Elder Scrolls is helping them build a better game.

During the conversation, they talk about how their favorite moments from other games, such as playing in first-person, picking everything up from a table in Skyrim, or stepping out of Vault 101 in Fallout, have inspired them to create a believable world.

Starfield looks like it is going to be huge, and Todd himself says at the end of the video that everyone they spoke to said that a space game to them should be about exploration and discovering “what is out there.”

One crucial point that the group mentions in the video is the importance of the modding community and its contributions to Bethesda games.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is one of the fondest games that Bethesda has released, and still, people go back and play it regularly after ten years (Yes, Skyrim launched on November 11, 2011).

The community’s Mods have made games such as Skyrim, Oblivion, and Fallout 4 retain replayability and, most importantly, fun.

Bethesda seems to finally acknowledge the important role that modders have in creating new stories within their games.

And that can only be good news for everyone, as surely we all want to see Randy “Macho Man” Savage spaceships.

Starfield releases on November 11, 2022 for Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC.
