Sony is reportedly building a mobile games platform. That’s according to a job listing the company has posted seeking a software engineer.

In a job listing spotted by Tweak Town, Sony is asking for applicants for a mobile platform architect, fuelling rumors that the company is building a mobile games platform similar to the one Microsoft is currently set to launch in July.

As pointed out by Tweak Town, Sony doesn’t currently have any mobile games other than Fate/Grand Order. However, with the company recently acquiring Savage Game Studios in 2022, now called Neon Koi, it’s clear Sony is looking to invest in the mobile market.

As Microsoft plans with its mobile storefront, Sony will likely build the platform and encourage third parties to publish on it. That being said, we can still expect the PlayStation Studios Mobile Division to produce mobile titles for both new and existing IPs.
