With just a month before Sonic Racing Crossworlds officially launches, Sega is hosting an open network test on August 29th to September 2nd. Get your first experience with this game for free and help out in making sure the game releases in the best shape possible.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Open Network Test 2025
Join Sega and other Sonic fans with the Sonic Racing Crossworlds open network test. It will feature a larger roster of playable characters and more courses than the closed network test six months ago. So if you played then, you’ll surely enjoy this one.
The test will run from Aug 29 5AM BST / 6AM CEST to Sept 2 5AM BST / 6AM CEST. Players can now pre-load the ONT version in your desired platform today. Here are quick links on where to download it:
While the game is also releasing on Nintendo Switch 2, there is no dedicated ONT version for the said platform. However, the Switch version can be played on Switch 2.
This test will have both online (World Match, Joker Festival) and offline (World Match, Joker Festival) modes. To play the World Match, you’ll have to finish a Grand Prix first which consists of 4 races. If you’re interested with joining the online modes, check the schedule below:
Crossplay is supported in the test so expect a lot of fun. You can form a team of up to 4 players or join a squad online. If you’re more of the single-player type of gamer though, there are the time trials for 3 courses from the Donpa Grand Prix in Grand Prix mode.
Although any saved data from this test cannot be carried to the full game, there is a participation bonus you can use when the game launches. These decals are cosmetics you can use to customize your machines. In order to redeem them successfully, you’ll have to use the account and the platform you played with during the open network test.
