Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, the new family-friendly racer from Sonic Team and SEGA, has revealed its post-launch roadmap, which includes free and paid DLC, offering new characters, cars, tracks, and emotes.
The new roadmap showcases what’s to come in the first year after the launch of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Upcoming content includes a Mega Man content pack, new characters, and free content drops.
Since its release across PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC, the racing game has been a hit with players for its cross-platform features, which include 45 unique original vehicles, 23 iconic Sonic characters, and 70 different gadgets to utilize during races.

What’s in the Post-Launch Roadmap – Season Pass
Despite only recently releasing across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC, SEGA and Sonic Team have revealed the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds post-launch roadmap.
Players can look forward to four major patches in each quarter, with the first coming in the final quarter of 2025 and adding a Minecraft and SpongeBob content pack as part of the Season Pass.
Moving into 2026, Q1 2026 will see the game receive a Pac-Man-inspired content pack. In Q2 2026, a Mega Man content pack will launch, followed by packs themed around Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar in Q3 2026.
Each season pass content pack will include characters, a vehicle, a track, emotes, and audio content.
Free Content
Aside from the season pass content, free drops will drop with each patch. So far, Joker from Persona 5 and Ichiban from Like A Dragon are confirmed as additional free characters coming to the game later this year.
The post-launch roadmap will introduce new content for both competitive and casual players. Further updates will see balance changes and gameplay tweaks added to the game.
