RuneScape: Dragonwilds v0.10 Update: Soul Rifts, New Boss & Magic Crops

Jagex has finally dropped the Fellhollow Update (v0.10), bringing the largest content expansion to RuneScape: Dragonwilds since it entered Early Access in April 2025.

The Fellhollow region introduces a treacherous

Fellhollow serves as a free expansion for all current owners of RuneScape: Dragonwilds. While the open-world survival game is still in Early Access, this patch significantly widens the scope of Ashenfall.

To access the new region, which is north of Ghornfell, players must first complete the “Dragon Slayer” questline and speak to the Wise Old Man to unlock the path.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds Farming – Sorcery Meets Agriculture

As part of the Fellhollow update, the long-requested Farming skill is now live, capped at level 65, but Jagex has added a unique survival twist. This isn’t just about planting seeds; it is about mastering “Magical Agriculture.”

  • Spell-Assisted Growth: Using the new Humidify skill spell, players can water an entire plot instantly with a raincloud that rolls forward, watering and curing any plants it touches.
  • New Crops: There’s a bunch of new crops, including wheat, tomatoes, pumpkins, and watermelons, and spawns of Kwuarm herbs in chests with seeds, allowing players to grow them at their own pace.
  • Compost Bins: You can now turn almost anything into compost, including any farmable produce, any plant, cooked or burned food, and weeds.

Dragonwilds Combat Overhaul: Soul Rift Mechanics

Combat in Dragonwilds has shifted from simple hack-and-slash to high-stakes resource management. The update introduces 11 new enemy types, which Jagex encourages players to discover while exploring.

The core mechanic changing the battlefield is the Soul Rift:

  • Risk vs. Reward: Staying in the poison mist accumulates “Soul Corruption.” Once full, you enter the Rift. In this state, you take constant damage but deal 50% more magic damage.
  • The Boss: The new region boss, Imaru the Soul Eater, can only be damaged while you are inside the Soul Rift state, forcing players to dance on the edge of death to secure the kill.

Essential Bug Fixes & Quality of Life

Alongside the content drop, the developers have patched several persistent issues that have plagued the Early Access build.

  • Stamina: Players will now recover stamina during conversations with NPCs.
  • Triggers: Gameplay effects when in vaults should trigger correctly.
  • Status Messages: Burning and poison status effect messages will no longer replicate incorrectly.

Verdict: Is the Update Worth the Grind?

If you enjoy the survival-crafting mechanics of games like Valheim but miss the nostalgia of RuneScape, Fellhollow is the ideal time to jump in. The synergy between the new Magic spells and Farming feels incredibly satisfying and removes much of the tedium usually associated with survival games.
