Roger Jr. Booted Out of Tekken 7 Due to Animal Rights Activists
Tekken 7 will no longer include the boxing kangaroo Roger Jr. in its roster of playable characters, as confirmed by Bandai Namco director and Tekken’s producer Katsuhiro Harada.

According to Harada, they came to the decision to omit Roger Jr. from the game due to a viral video of an Australian man punching a kangaroo to save his dog.
“There was a video of a man’s dog being headlocked by a kangaroo, and he punched it in the face. It turned into a big problem,” Harada says. People were complaining about him punching a kangaroo. It seems that in the last few years there’s a lot more animal activists – even though they probably wouldn’t play our game they would still hear about that, about a kangaroo in our game being punched, and would complain about it.”
Other animal fighters in the game, such as the bear Kuma, will stay.
Tekken 7 will be available on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One starting 2 June 2017.
