The upcoming Resident Evil series on Netflix has a new trailer, and surprise surprise, Umbrella Corporation is still evil and up to no good.

WHAT IS THE NETFLIX RESIDENT EVIL SERIES ABOUT?

The upcoming Netflix show is the first live-action Resident Evil series, and it will take direct influence from the RE video games but will have no links to the Resident Evil films.

Set fourteen years after Umbrella Corporation’s virus begins to mutate the world’s population into flesh-eating monsters, the series follows Jade Wesker.

In the official trailer for the series, we see a group of survivors trying to stay alive in a world now overrun by zombies and other mutated creatures.

Although we should not expect to see many of the characters, we can see in the trailer that there is a definite inspiration when it comes to locations.

The Resident Evil games are popular because of how claustrophobic they feel, with combat often taking place in small rooms or corridors.

Of course, that will be lost when the series shows the characters outside in the open world, but we can also see narrow halls, underground areas, and dark rooms in the trailer.

The Netflix Resident Evil series is eight episodes long, and each one will be an hour in length.

Cast members include Ella Balinska (Jade Wesker), Lance Reddick (Albert Wesker), Connor Gosatti (Simon), and Siena Agudong (Billie Wesker).

Resident Evil will release on Netflix on July 14.
