Red Dead Redemption 3: Sequel Confirmed by Actor, Fans Go Wild

With the recent announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6 being announced for 2025, with the return to Vice City, many fans are wondering when we could see a Read Dead Redemption 3 coming.

Why Red Dead Redemption 3

Some people may find it unnatural having expectations for a new entry in the Red Dead franchise, especially since we’ve just received confirmation for the next GTA game. But it’s justified in the fact that what Red Dead as a series has achieved is a much more grounded and humane aspect to the storytelling. Which, thanks to the time period, can be combined with characters based on real people along with fictitious ones. It is one of the, if not THE, most beloved open world western titles for a reason.

And while some may argue that Rockstar owns some other big and memorable IPs, such as L.A. Noir, Bully or even Manhunt, it’s no wonder that Red Dead with Redemption caught the hearts of many players. Still Rockstar is not completely forgetful of their own IPs, with Max Payne 1&2 being actively developed by none other than Remedy Entertainment, behind Control and the recent Alan Wake 2.

Arthur Morgan’s actor confirmation

Needless to say that GTA VI announcement has involved anyone, including Roger Clark, the voice behind Arthur Morgan, the protagonist of Read Dead Redemption II. He states how GTA Online, still holds up magnificently despite the years, and how the now approaching 200 Million copies sold worldwide title will coexist with the upcoming GTA VI instead of being  replaced by the latter.

After a user poses a question about a Red Dead Redemption III and story of Arthur, Roger firmly states that while Arthur’s story is now complete, he absolutely believes that Rockstar won’t leave the series and there will be a 3, although no precise date yet. stirring some hope and excitement among fans for a new unbound Red Dead Redemption title.

Red Dead Redemption III expectations and possible date

Needless to say, Roger might be right about GTA V and the upcoming 6 being played side by side. But that also means that Rockstar Studios will shift their focus more on GTA VI and won’t jeopardize the title sales and popularity by launching another heavy hitter, like a new chapter of Red Dead, right after GTA VI launch. It’s safe to assume that the new Red Dead may also launch on the next gen consoles, but likely a few years after their official launch.

As per tradition from Red Dead Revolver launched in 2004, about 4 years after PS2 and 3 after the original Xbox. Red Dead Redemption in 2010, about 4 years after PS3 and 5 after Xbox 360 launch. With finally Red Dead Redemption II in 2018 5 years after the launch of PS4 and Xbox One.

And while the 9th gen console skipped any Red Dead, with the upgraded release of RDR2, it’s safe to assume a new entry about 4-5 years after the 10th Gen consoles launch and one that won’t interfere with GTA VI at that point. So we’ll have to wait a bit, most likely a decade or so.
