REANIMAL is the new horror adventure game in development by Tarsier Studios. The famous Swedish development studio from Malmö behind the first two Little Nightmares. A studio founded in 2004 in Karlshamn with a close collaboration with Playstation for the LittleBigPlanet series. They found a new publisher in Bandai Namco with the launch of the first LN in 2016.
The studio was then acquired by Amplifier Game Invest along with other studios in 2019. But they lost the LN IP in the process, and the team announced in 2021 the development of a new IP. The official reveal of Reanimal happened at Gamescom 2024, as the spiritual successor to Little Nightmares. Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. REANIMAL: The Exclusive Gameplay Showcase
Following the announcement of the launch window for REANIMAL, Tarsier Studios and THQ Nordic are bringing some exciting news. On August 15, 2025, they shared a special gameplay showcase. Created in collaboration with IGN, it gives a first look at the new Horror adventure and spiritual successor to Little Nightmares.
It takes us on a new mysterious and chilling horror adventure. Following the protagonist duo of a brother and sister, trapped in a scary, alternate version of their own home. They must work together to save their 3 friends across various locations in a non-linear adventure.
REANIMAL: Gameplay Overview and Latest News
An awesome 13-minute showcase from IGN. Starting from a beach, the duo sneaks in through the sewers of a facility, where we find one of our friends. He tells us to run, but the duo pushes on through some puzzles. This leads them to an abandoned train station.
They find figures resembling conductors on guard duty. When one of the trains is activated, we get chased by one of the shadowy figures. Escaping together with our friend. The showcase demonstrates the single-player experience, where you control the duo simultaneously, but co-op has been confirmed for launch. The launch is planned for Q1 2026, and Reanimal will be one of the main highlights at Gamescom 2025 with a playable demo on-site.
