AMD are looking for a system-on-chip verification engineer as they begin work on the next PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

After two years, the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 console stocks are still challenging to find.
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic pushed back manufacturing, resulting in a chip shortage that we’re still feeling today.
But that has not stopped Microsoft and Sony from looking toward their next consoles.
In a job listing on LinkedIn, AMD is looking for a system-on-chip verification engineer to work on a next-generation chip.
AMD’s listing states:
“The team behind the chip powering XBOX™, PlayStation™ and the latest RDNA-family graphics chip is hiring for its Markham location in Canada for the next-generation chip development project!
“We are currently looking for a System-on-Chip Verification Engineer who will be part of a team working on the next generation of a complex SOC design.”
There is no news or confirmation that the new job is linked to a PS6 or new Xbox console, but Sony is reportedly working on a PS5 Pro.
If reports are accurate, the PS5 Pro will release in 2024, which could see a new updated Xbox Series X|S console released as a competitor.
