PS5 Gets 1440p Support Soon

Sony will soon update the PS5 to support 1440p monitor resolution.

Sony released the PlayStation 5 in November 2020, but unlike Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S, it does not feature native 1440p monitor support.

In a post on the official PlayStation blog, Sony confirms the update, now in beta, along with other additional features.

PlayStation 5 Software Beta Update Features:

  • 1440p HDMI Video Output
  • Gamelists
  • Compare 3D Audio and Stereo Audio
  • Easier Access to In-progress Activities
  • Request Share Screen
  • Joinable Game Notification
  • View New Friends’ Profiles
  • Send Stickers and Voice Messages in Game Base

To set your PS5 to 1440p when the update releases, you need to go to System Settings > Video Output  > Resolution > 1440p.
