Prince of Persia is set to return with reports coming that Dead Cells developer Evil Empire is working on a roguelite. Find out everything we know and when we expect to release in this article.
According to industry insider Tom Henderson, Dead Cells developer Evil Empire is reportedly working on a Prince of Persia roguelite that could release by the end of 2024.
The game, apparently titled “The Rogue Prince of Persia” is said to have been in development for the past four years and its art style is heavily inspired by Franco-Belgian comics.
Though nothing is officially confirmed by Ubisoft, the Prince of Persia publisher, or Evil Empire, we know that Evil Empire handed the development responsibility of Dead Cells back to Twin Motion in February of this year, leaving Evil Empire to focus on other projects.
In the post on Insider Gaming, Henderson says “It’s currently unclear when the game will officially be announced, but the game is targeting an Early Access release on Steam later this year.”
Prince of Persia fans will no doubt be happy with the good news, even if it’s just rumored at the moment, particularly after Ubisoft’s upcoming Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake has been hit with numerous delays with no release date in sight.
