Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs gets a Release Date for Pre-orders

Out of the blue, Namco has released the trailer for PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs. The new Pac-Man themed game was initially announced in 2020 but was re-announced on 10 October 2023, following some events. With this new trailer on 11 April 2024, not only do we have the release date, much closer than expected, but also the opening for pre-orders for this new Pac-Man game.

The return of PAC-MAN with Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs

PAC-MAN is certainly an icon of the gaming world that since its debut in 1980 has always remained in the minds and hearts of many players of different generations. With many games under its belt, the Namco icon hasn’t had the best time in recent years with some games being shut down (the two PAC-MAN social games on Facebook and TikTok), and with its last official appearance on Smash Bros Ultimate, or as a skin on Fall Guys. Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle was announced as an exclusive on Google Stadia, but with its closure, the project was momentarily canceled. Only to return with the announcement on 10 October 2023, with a renewed version in Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs.

Inspired by the origins of the Mega Tunnel Battle series: Chomp Champs, it offers a big Arcade version of the classic with a modern style but also with the addition of a PvP mode for up to 64 players, already seen in other classics like Bomberman, or Pac-Man Battle Royale itself. Where players challenge each other to see who remains the last one standing by eating the Ghosts and the competition! With interconnected Maze, we’ll be able to face other players as well as obtain the various power ups to gain the upper hand! Not to mention personalize our little PAC-MAN to stand out of the colored maze!

When is PAC-MAN coming out with Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs and where to find it at the best price

With the brand new trailer, we finally have the expected release date for May 9, 2024, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. But not only that, because with the announcement, we also have the green light for Pre-Order, with the base version at a modest €19.99 and the Deluxe version at €29.99. With Deluxe owners having early access of 7 days (May 2), and those who pre-order will also receive some exclusive extras to customize their own PAC-MAN.
