Overwatch 2 Season 10 kicks off this week and it’s switching things up in a big way with a new mode. Read on to discover more about OW2: Season 10.

Overwatch 2 Season 10 release date

Overwatch 2 Season 10 begins April 16 and there’s a new Hero and new Mirrorwatch mode, which will no doubt shake up Blizzard’s objective-based hero shooter.

Coming in season 10 is the new Hero Venture, a DPS-based character who comes to Overwatch as the 40th playable Hero who can dig underground to move across the map. Venture’s arrival is good timing, as season 10 is also when Blizzard will no longer lock Heroes behind a paywall, making all heroes, including Venture, free to play automatically for everyone.

If a new Hero isn’t enough to get you excited, there is a new game mode added with Overwatch 2 Season 10. Mirrorwath is a time limited mode that will flip the hero and villain roles characters, where heroic heroes such as Mercy and Reinhardt become evil and Doomfist turn to the side of good.

These alternative versions will also have a switch of abilities, with Mercy able to shoot powerful orbs from her staff. To accompany the event, new skins, including for Symmetra, Ana, and Baptiste, are available to unlock.

Of course, theres plenty more coming in Overwatch 2 Season 10, such as a new battle pass, an improved matchmaking system for those playing with friends, and quality-of-life improvements.

Season 10 begins on April 16, with the Mirrorwatch game mode running from April 23 to May 16. Now may be the time to go back to Blizzard Entertainment’s somewhat failed shooter again.
