In Outrider Mako, you take on the role of a mysterious delivery girl stranded in the spiritual world of “Mayoi.” Your task in this realm is to deliver packages to various gods. But not all gods offer easy jobs—sometimes, you’ll have to endure tough battles to complete your deliveries.

This charming indie title was developed by Asamado Games and published by PLAYISM. It blends top-down combat with crafting, exploration, and a unique delivery gameplay where you even serve the gods. The game launched today, June 23, 2025, for PC via Steam.

Outrider Mako Gameplay: Packages, Pixels & Divine Battles

In Outrider Mako, you step into the shoes of Mako, who finds herself in a world inhabited by gods. To return to your own world, you must collect stamps from all gods. You earn these through your job at the Bumon Delivery Center, where you’re given a delivery role. You receive quests from the gods and must find items for them.

The items you need must be packed into special packages. To find them—such as crystals—you must explore the mononoke-infested world and pack them at your workbench. After that, they must be delivered—but some items can only be obtained by defeating powerful enemies, which means you’ll need to fight your way home.

Enemies will repeatedly get in your way. You’ll have to learn and dodge their attacks or possibly avoid them altogether. For combat, you wield a magic wand with different spells. There are also many helpful items, like red nectar that slows enemies during battle.

On your journey, you’ll discover talismans that permanently enhance your abilities. But be cautious—just because you delivered a package doesn’t mean the mission is over. Some gods will go berserk for various reasons, and you’ll have to battle them. They may be powerful, but they’re not invincible. Discover their weaknesses and use them to your advantage to calm their rage and complete your delivery.

Art Style & Atmosphere

The game features a hand-drawn pixel art style with spiritual Japanese flair. The world is enchanted and colorful, yet still dangerous. Each area is home to unique gods, creatures, and themes, keeping the experience fresh and engaging. The soundtrack is atmospheric and calm, providing a stark contrast to the intensity of the boss battles.
