After weeks of conflicting release dates and retailer listings, the publisher has finally settled the confusion with an updated release schedule. Capcom seems to be dancing with this one because in a span of just 3 weeks, Onimusha Way of the Sword release date has “moved” a couple of times. The game was originally scheduled to launch on September 25, 2026 but mid last month, Canadian retailer PNPGames listed the game with a September 4, 2026.
No official announcement came with it but considering where the game was originally planted (a day after Silent Hill Townhall and Control Resonant), it wasn’t a remote idea that Capcom would consider moving it. However a week after it was leaked, the team doubled down during Capcom Spotlight on the September 25 date.
And then finally today, Capcom has officially moved Onimusha Way of the Sword to September 4, 2026.

Because of the move, the pre-order bonus for the digital version will be changed to an Early Adopter Bonus which will still be available until September 25 4:59PM PT / 7:59PM ET / September 26 00:59AM BST.
The demo also received some good news as Capcom shared that the current version will receive an update in the future, though it will not include new content.
