Neon Abyss 2 in Early Access: Co-op Action, New Features & Return of Item Synergies

Today, Neon Abyss 2 has officially launched in Early Access on Steam. The game takes the fast-paced pixel action of the first installment to a new level. You’ll get online co-op action with up to four players, and a completely revamped weapon and synergy system.

Neon Abyss 2 Release & Platforms

Today, on June 17, 2025, Neon Abyss 2 has launched in Early Access on Steam. Currently, the game is only available for PC via Steam, but console releases are planned once the game reaches version 1.0. The game is priced at €19.50, but you can save 10% until July 31.

The game has reworked and improved many gameplay features. There’s a completely new weapon system with a wide range of new weapons. No matter your playstyle, the game offers something for you. Whether you prefer melee combat with a baseball bat, unleashing deadly plants, or commanding a dragon creature, it’s all possible.

You’ll frequently find random item drops that grant you even more power in the Abyss. With these items, you can create wild and unstoppable synergies, making every run unique. There’s also no item limit, so you can become incredibly powerful.

You can also hatch numerous companions. These cute creatures grow into powerful and unique allies that enhance your run. There are many different types of companions to discover, giving each run fresh possibilities.

On top of that, a completely new Faith system has been added. You can spend points in the shop to buy powerful new items or recruit more companions. You can also gamble all your money, and if luck is on your side, everything can change in an instant.

The game also features co-op for up to 4 players. So you can jump into this roguelike chaos together. Everyone can create their own unique synergies, and together you’ll wield immense destructive power. You can even explore different rooms while staying on the same map to maximize your efficiency and uncover all secrets and treasures.

First Impressions & Outlook

The game has been out for just a few hours and already holds a very positive rating on Steam (81% positive). Players particularly love the variety of synergies and possible combos. The only criticism so far involves minor bugs and missing translations, which is understandable in Early Access and expected to improve over time.
